Watch-only civilization simulation. Keyboard shortcuts: space pauses or resumes; keys 1 through 4 set speed to 0.5x slow, 1x normal, 2x fast and 4x blitz (the speed-preset buttons under the playback rail do the same); plus and minus zoom the map; 0 resets the camera; n generates a new world; m changes map size; d toggles the diplomacy overlay; g cycles the divine powers; Escape closes the selection and disarms any power. The divine bar arms bless, storm, smite, or pact — while bless, storm, or smite is armed, clicking the map invokes that power on the clicked cell instead of inspecting a settlement; while pact is armed, press on one city and drag to another to broker peace or alliance between their civilizations. The world temper setting (serene, balanced, wrathful) scales how often disasters, wildfires, and harsh climate epochs strike. From the classical era onward corsair fleets may prowl the sealanes, sacking harbors until a naval power runs them down. Click or tap a settlement to inspect local resources, imported goods, ruler traits, great works, and diplomacy. The world ledger reports conquest, war, alliance, trade, resource, great-work, disaster, and fallen-civilization totals when the simulation provides them. The map context reports claimed-map share, frontier pressure, and settlement density from the current world.
